Kidney Research UK Weekly Lottery rules

  1. The cost of each entry is £1. Players may purchase more than one entry, and payment must be in advance. Entry is open to all Great Britain residents but excludes  third parties directly involved in the administration or management of the Weekly Lottery.
  2. Tickets may not to be sold by or to anyone under 18 years of age. Any person found to be under 18 years of age automatically forfeits the right to any prize.
  3. Your unique six-digit lottery number(s) will be generated and confirmed by post within 21 calendar days. Your number(s) will remain the same each week. No ticket will be supplied.
  4. The weekly draw will be conducted every Friday, unless this falls on a Bank Holiday in which case the draw will be conducted the next working day. The draw will be conducted by a random number generator which will select a six-digit number (the Winning Number). Only lottery numbers for players with sufficient credit at the time of the draw will be eligible for prizes. Late or missed payments may result in player’s lottery numbers not being eligible for every draw.
  5. The Winning Number will be published on the Kidney Research UK Weekly Lottery website lottery.kidneyresearchuk.org/winners
    and will be available from the Weekly Lottery Helpline on 01628 201 952. Results will be available from the Monday following the draw.
  6. A winning combination occurs when a player’s lottery numbers match three or more digits in the correct position within the Winning Number.
  7. There are no alternatives to any prize and no interest will be payable. If you pay by Direct Debit, prizes will be paid directly into your bank account, otherwise a cheque will be sent within 21 days.
  8. Prizes are as follows: Match six numbers in the right place for a prize of £10,000. Match five numbers in the right place for a prize of £1,000. Match four numbers in the right place for a prize of £25. Match three numbers in the right place for a prize of £5.
  9. The overall chance of winning a prize each week with one entry is 1 in 63.
  10. All profits from the Weekly Lottery go to Kidney Research UK to continue funding the charity’s work.
  11. Kidney Research UK is not responsible for any delays in bank payments.
  12. No liability is accepted for loss, theft or delayed receipt of any communication sent by post.
  13. Kidney Research UK or its External Lottery Manager may (without giving any reason or notice) decline to accept an application, cancel an existing subscription or terminate or suspend the lottery scheme. Kidney Research UK or its External Lottery Manager’s decisions regarding the rules shall, once made, will be final and binding.
  14. The rules are subject to change by Kidney Research UK or its External Lottery Manager. Copies of the latest rules will be published on lottery.kidneyresearchuk.org
  15. Kidney Research UK will collect and process participants' personal information in order to conduct the Weekly Lottery and it will be shared with Kidney Research UK’s agents to the extent necessary for the Weekly Lottery to be administered and the prize to be delivered to the winner. Players’ names and other personal details from their entry to the Weekly Lottery will be collected and stored by Kidney Research UK and held in accordance with the applicable privacy policy. Kidney Research UK will send participants marketing materials that they have consented to receiving.
  16. Kidney Research UK maintains records of customer funds separately from general company / charity funds. This means that steps have been taken to separately account for customer funds from company / charity funds, however those funds are not protected if Kidney Research UK becomes insolvent. This meets the Gambling Commission’s requirements for the segregation of customer funds at the basic level of protection.
  17. These terms and conditions are governed by English law. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to hear any dispute or claim arising in association with the Weekly Lottery or these terms and conditions.
  18. All proceeds from this lottery will be used for the charitable purposes of Kidney Research UK with a guaranteed 60% of proceeds returned to the good cause. We allocate 20% of proceeds to fund the prizes and a further 20% to fund the administration of the programme.

Keep the Change

Keep the change, allows you to increase the value of your gift each month with an additional Donation. For example, if you purchase 1 entry at £4.34 per month, you can round your payment up to £5.00 per month with £0.66 treated as a donation to Kidney Research UK. You can also choose your own amount to round up. If you choose to round up your donation you can amend or remove this from your Direct Debit at any time by contacting the Lottery Hotline on 01628 201 952.

We are able to claim Gift Aid on your top up donation. Due to leagal reasons, we can not claim Gift Aid on your Lottery entries. Your donation will not be used to top up your lottery account if you do not have enough credit to be entered into a draw. 

New Player Welcome Draw 

1) Entrants in the New Players’ Draw must be 18 years and over and must be residents in the United Kingdom of Great Britain but excludes Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. 

2) The New Player Welcome Draw is open to new players only, who successfully join the Weekly Lottery and have their first Direct Debit payment successfully collected 1st May 2026 and 16th July 2026. 

3) Only players whose first payment is collected within this period will be eligible, players who sign up but whose first payment is not collected during this period will not be entered into the draw. 

4) Eligible players will be automatically entered into a monthly prize draw during the promotional period. 

5) The draw will take place on the last Friday of each month. In each monthly draw, 50% of eligible entrants will receive a £5 prize and the remaining 50% will not receive a prize. No alternative prizes are available and no interest is payable. 

6) This draw is operated as part of the Weekly Lottery and is subject to the Lottery’s main rules and terms and conditions. Winners will be selected at random and notified directly. The Welcome Draw is not advertised separately and is offered as a surprise and delight initiative for new players. 

7) Only one entry per person will be made.  

8) Entry into the draw will be deemed to constitute acceptance of these terms and conditions. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse entry or refuse to award a New Players Welcome Draw prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions. 

9) The draws will be held utilising a random number generator that has been tested and approved by an independent, Gambling Commission approved third-party test house. 

10) The New Players’ Draw winner details will be available via the Kidney Research UK Weekly Lottery helpline a week after the New Player's Draw date. Please telephone 01628 201 952 (Monday-Friday 9am-5pm). 

11) All lucky winners will receive their £5 prize by BACs transfer or in the form of a cheque, which will be posted directly to the winners via Royal Mail 2nd class post, within seven days of the draw taking place. 

12) The Promoter may (without giving any reason or notice) decline to accept an application or terminate or suspend the scheme. 

13) Personal data supplied during the course of this promotion will only be processed as set out in the Promoter’s privacy policy. 

14) The Promoter’s decisions made pursuant to these terms and conditions shall, once made, be final and binding.

Direct Debit Guarantee

  • This Guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that accept instructions to pay Direct Debits.
  • If there are any changes to the amount, date or frequency of your Direct Debit CTT Charity Payments re Kidney Research UK will notify you 10 working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed. If you request Kidney Research UK to collect a payment, confirmation of the amount and date will be given to you at the time of the request.
  • If an error is made in the payment of your Direct Debit, by CTT Charity Payments re Kidney Research or your bank or building society you are entitled to a full and immediate refund of the amount paid from your bank or building society. If you receive a refund you are not entitled to, you must pay it back when CTT Charity Payments re Kidney Research asks you to.
  • You can cancel a Direct Debit at any time by simply contacting your bank or building society. Written confirmation may be required. Please also notify us.
